Eric & Marion of Viking & Daughters purchased 32 acres of forested land in Canaan, NY, in 2016. They immediately fell in love with the property and have spent the years since deepening their connection to it. The land’s natural slope and dense maple growth made it an ideal setting for producing maple syrup.
With a bit more time on his hands, Eric began researching the sugaring process and boiled his first batch of 100% pure maple syrup in 2019. By spring of 2020, they released their second boil for sale—and Viking & Daughters Maple was born.
Each gallon is crafted using the time-honored tradition of boiling maple sap to produce rich, flavorful syrup. Alongside their classic offerings, they’ve developed both traditional and inventive flavors. One standout is Hot Maple, created in collaboration with the Poor Devil Pepper Co.—a bold, chili-infused syrup that’s perfect on wings, ribs, or even ice cream (for those who like a little heat with their sweet).
